Antonia Elizabeth (Clor) Downey
September 3, 1905 - January 22, 1971
Mrs. Antonia Downey, 65, wife of Robert Downey and lifelong resident of Huron 
County, died Friday in Harbor Beach Community Hospital after a long illness.  
Mrs. Downey, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Clor, was born September 
3, 1905, in Sherman Township.  She and Mr. Downey were married February 10, 
1926.  Mr. and Mrs. Downey lived in Sherman Township until 1949 when they moved 
to Harbor Beach.  Mrs. Downey was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lake Huron 
Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society. 

She is survived by her husband, five sons, James Downey, South Lyons, Michigan; 
Jerome Downey, East Detroit; Dennis and Michael Downey, both of Taylor, 
Michigan, and Mark Downey, Detroit; three daughters, Mrs. Catherine Shubitowski, 
Harbor Beach; Mrs. Patricia Avery, Fenton, Michigan, and Mrs. Rose Ann Bandelow, 
Novelty, Ohio; 23 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, Joseph 
and Jacob Clor, both of Harbor Beach, and Leo Clor, Ruth, and two sisters, Mrs. 
Catherine Messing, Ruth, and Sister Gonzaga, Inkster, Michigan  Funeral services 
will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church.  
Rev. Bela Torok will officiate.  Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 
near Ruth.  The remains are in Burton E. Ramsey Funeral Home where Father Torok 
will recite the Rosary at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.  Published Times Herald (Port Huron,
