(Messing) Essenmacher May 27, 1903 – December 24, 2005 Anna M. (Messing) Essenmacher, 102, of Bad Axe, died Saturday, December 24, 2005, at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. She was born in Sherman Township, Huron County, on May 27, 1903 to the late Henry T. and Helen "Lena" Tenbusch Messing. Anna married Henry E. Essenmacher on November 12, 1924 in Sherman Township at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Henry preceded her in death on September 12, 1969. Anna enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by two daughters, Naomi Rogers, of Bad Axe, Helen M. Lemanski, of Port Austin; one son, Marvin Essenmacher, of Bad Axe; one step-daughter, Louise Zdrojewski and her husband, Danny, of Palms; 12 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard Messing and his wife, Theresa, of Bad Axe, Andrew Messing, of Bad Axe; one sister, Dorothy Roggenbuck, of Helena; and many nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by one son, Robert H. Essenmacher; four brothers, Leo, Walter, Arthur, and Lawrence Messing; five sisters, Clara Clor, Helen Kirsch, Magadalain, Kranz, Eleanor Adler, and Irene Samulski. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. Fr. Jim Carlson will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe. There will be a scripture at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be offered to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the donor's choice.
