Lloyd Kenneth Essenmacher
November 23, 1927 – March 9, 2009
Lloyd K. Essenmacher, 81, of Harbor Beach passed away Monday, March 9, 2009 
peacefully at his home with family at his side while under the care of 
hospice.  He was born November 23, 1927 in Harbor Beach to the late Joseph and 
Virginia (Warner) Essenmacher.  Lloyd and Marilyn Booms were united in 
marriage June 20, 1953 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Helena.  Lloyd was 
a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving as a paratrooper in the Eleventh Airborne 
Division at the end of World War II and in the occupation of Japan.  Following 
his military service, he completed electronics school, ran a successful 
television business, and completed his career at Sears through retirement.  
Lloyd loved animals and nature and thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the 
woods.  He was very active in sports, and was always up for a game with his 
kids or in the community.  He was an avid card player, with euchre and pedro 
often being played around the home.  Lloyd was a member of Our Lady of Lake 
Huron Catholic Church of Harbor Beach. 

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, after 55 years of marriage; 11 children, 
Thomas (Charlet) Essenmacher of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Douglas (Vickie) 
Essenmacher of Cadillac, Audrey (Steve) Schock of Calgary, Canada, Karen 
(Mark) Sfara of Youngstown, Ohio, Duane (Chantella) Essenmacher of Katy, 
Texas, Dale Essenmacher of Augusta, Kansas, Neal (Pauline) Essenmacher of 
Harbor Beach, Timothy (Courtney) Essenmacher of Lathrup Village, Joseph (Tami) 
Essenmacher of Shelby Township, Renae (David) Paulson of Webster, Wisconsin, 
Kevin Essenmacher and friend, Jamie, of Lansing; 34 grandchildren; two step-
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Anna) 
Essenmacher of Bad Axe.  Lloyd was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl, 
George, Maurice, Donald, and Warner. 

Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Our 
Lady of Lake Huron Church in Harbor Beach. The Rev. Donald Eppenbrock, pastor, 
will preside. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A parish vigil service 
will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach.  
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday 
at the funeral home.
