Lois Ann Fehner
Bad Axe Girl Dies of Polio -- Lois Ann Fehner, 6, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis 
Fehner, died Sun of Bulbar Polio-myelitis. She took ill Friday. She is survived 
by her parents, brothers, Louis Jr., 4 , Ronald James, one sister, Barbara Jean, 
3, grandparents, Louis Fehner, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Slack, Ubly. She was a 
member of the 1st grade Sacred Heart Parochial school.  Funeral services were 
conducted today from Sacred Heart Cath ch. Rev Charles Roark officiated. Burial 
was made in Colfax cemetery. Harold L. Muchler, county chairman of the Huron 
county chapter of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis states that 
this is the first case in chapter records of a Huron county resident dying from 
polio.
