He was born October 26, 1904 in Minden City son of the late John and Sophia (Sofka) Fisher. He married Mable Osentoski on June 25, 1929 at St. John Catholic Church of Ubly. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School. He farmed in Minden City until 1960. He worked at Booms Construction Company of Harbor Beach and at the Michigan Peat Company. He and his brother owned and operated Fisher Brothers Construction Co. of Ubly from 1967-1967. He retired as a maintenance man from Dott Manufacturing of Deckerville. He was an Honorary Third Degree life member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1546 of Bad Axe and a former usher of St. Mary’s of Parisville. He was a former member of the Minden Township Board, former member of the Election Board of Minden City and form Trustee of Minden City Oil and Gas Co. He was a parishioner of St. John’s Parish of Ubly since 1989. Surviving are his wife, Mable, of Bad Axe, one son, Melvin Fisher and his wife Carol, of Saginaw; two daughters, Rosemarie Horan and her husband, Robert of Port Huron and Suzanne Kroetsch and her husband, Gerald “Joe” of Snover; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, three brothers, and one great-grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 28, at 10:00 a.m. at St, John Catholic Church of Ubly, Rev. Randy Kelly, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly on Wednesday from 1:30 to 9:30 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. There will be a Parish Scripture Service on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and a joint Rosary by the K of C Bad Axe Council #1546 and the Daughters of Isabella at 8L:00 p.m. Wednesday.
