Marvin Robert Fisher
March 30, 1929 – December 19, 2014
Marvin R. Fisher, 85, formerly of Bad Axe, passed away after a long illness on 
December 19, 2014.  He was surrounded by his loving family while under hospice 
care in Cape Coral, Florida.  He was born March 30, 1929 in Ubly to Martin and 
Alice (Oberski) Fisher.  He married Anastasia Grifka on August 31, 1957.

Marvin was a member of the United States Army and worked for Michigan Bell 
Telephone for 45 years.  Rarely the life of the party, Marvin was always ready 
with a one-liner to make the crowd howl with laughter.  He was a perfect host, 
always making sure your drink was never empty.  His passion for perfection was 
shown by meticulously slicing, dicing, and arranging food plates.  With his 
mild-mannered demeanor he never showed feelings of anger or joy.  Things he 
pretended to enjoy: euchre, dancing, hunting, and golfing.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Anastasia (Sweetie) of N. Ft. 
Myers, Florida; daughter, Sally and her husband Tom Britt of Bad Axe; sons, John 
of Indianapolis, Indiana, Michael (friend Beth Meyer) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; 
Kenneth of Bad Axe, and Steven of Royal Oak; four grandchildren, Michael (friend 
Kristie) and Corey Fisher and Olivia and Spencer Britt; one great-grandchild, 
Braelynn Fisher.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Esther 
(Murray), Lillian (Peplinski), and Erma.  A Memorial Service was conducted 
December 22, 2014, at St. Therese Parish, N. Ft. Myers, Florida.  Published
