Rev. Joseph L. Koper officiated at the funeral services Wednesday morning in St. Mary's Catholic church, Parisville. Mr. Fisher was fatally injured last Saturday when a Pere Marquette diesel engine struck his horse and cutter near Tyre. He died in Hubbard Memorial hospital, Bad Axe. The accident occurred on the railroad right-of-way about 720 feet south of the depot in Tyre. Fisher and a companion, Cassimer Polum, were riding in the cutter, which was straddling a rail, when the train approached suddenly around a curve. Polom escaped injury by jumping from the cutter but Fisher, who was driving the horse, was unable to get out before the engine struck the cutter. The two men apparently did not know the road into Tyre had been opened Saturday and were going down the railroad which is a shorter route from Fishers home to Tyre than the road. Mr. Fisher was discharged from the Army last November and was married to Miss Edna Glaza last month. He is survived by his widow, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fisher, Minden City; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Ertman, Parisville, Mrs. Clare Peters, Argyle, and Mrs. Gertrude Wrobel, Detroit, and seven brothers, Boney, Clements and Russell Fisher, all of Detroit, Michael and Arthur Fisher, both of Port Huron, Ira Fisher.
