Emma M. Fisher

Mrs. Emma M. Fisher, 97, of Ubly, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Courtney 
Manor in Bad Axe.

Emma was born April 14, 1912 in Parisville, to the late Joseph and Mary 
(Kulish) Buchkowski. 

She married Philip Fisher, son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Kucharczyk) 
Fisher, on Oct. 20, 1934 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. He preceded 
her in death on Nov. 9, 1988.

She helped her husband on the farm and then moved to Ubly in 1973. Emma was a 
parishioner at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly where she was a member of the 
Christian Mothers Circle # 4, Queen of Angels. She wintered in Florida and 
enjoyed playing cards.

Emma is survived by two sisters, Marie Krozek of Ubly and Mathilda Particka of 
Bad Axe; three sisters-in-law, Sylvia Block of Caro, Beatrice Jabogzinski of 
Akron, and June Fisher of St. Clair Shores; and many nieces and nephews, 
helping raise Corey, James, Amy and Holly Guza.

She was preceded in death by seven sisters, Isabella (Swartz) Weisenberger, 
Sophia Susalla, Albena Maurer, Gertrude (Susalla) Messing, Josephine Miller, 
Theresa Glaza and Bernice Ignash; and one brother, Joseph Buchkowski.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at St. John Catholic 
Church in Ubly, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the Mass at 11 a.m. at 
church. The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. 
Mary Catholic Cemetery in Parisville.

Memorials are requested to the family discretionary fund.

Arrangements are being handled by the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly.
