Richard W. Frantz June 2, 1949 - July 20, 2015 Richard “Dick” W. Frantz, 66, of Dwight Township, passed away suddenly on July 20, 2015. He was born on June 2, 1949 in Bad Axe to the late Harold and Mary Jane (Ertman) Frantz. Dick served in the U.S. Army from April 29, 1969 to April 17, 1971. He was a member of the American Legion Port Austin Post #0499, a life member of the AMVETS Post MI-115; and a member of the United Association for Plumbers and Pipefitters, Local 85. He is survived by his wife, Marge Andreski-Frantz; his children Amy (George) Haggerty, Bethany Frantz, both of Sacramento, California; and Aaron (Kelly) Frantz of Dayton, Nevada; grandchildren Robert Baird, Tyler Miller, Molly and Jacob Frantz; brother Ken Frantz; sisters Debra (Gary) Allen, Denise Frantz (fiancé Dennis Chapdelaine) and Karen Frantz (fiancé Chris Chaplinski). Dick is also survived by his step children Jeff (Allyn)Andreski of Atlanta, Georgia, Greg Andreski of North Liberty, Iowa, and Jenny (Mark) Priewe of Surfside Beach, South Carolina and step grandchildren Denni and Maggie Andreski and Taylor Priewe; along with several nieces and nephews. Per Dick’s wishes, cremation and a Celebration of Life ceremony has taken place. MacAlpine Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Published MacAlpine Funeral Home July 2015 KINDE MAN DIES AFTER POSSIBLE MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT On Monday afternoon at 3:28 p.m. the Huron County Sheriff Office responded to Kinde Road near Verona Road in Dwight Township, which was the scene of a possible motorcycle accident. Investigation is revealing that a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle was westbound on Kinde Road when it entered the north ditch and went out of control. The driver, Richard W. Frantz, age 66, of Kinde, was found unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene and it is possible that a pre-existing or past medical issue could have been part of this incident. The Huron County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigators have processed the scene and the investigation will continue. The Huron County Medical Examiner’s Office will be looking into it further also. Huron County deputies were assisted at the scene by the Central Huron Ambulance Service and the Kinde Area Fire Department. Published Minden City Herald Thursday July 23, 2015.
