(Lackowski) Geiger April 18, 1920 – March 10, 2003 Selma M. Geiger, 82, of Harbor Beach passed away Monday, March 10, 2003, at Huron Medical Center, Bad Axe under hospice care. Born in Harbor Beach on April 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Julia (Kucharczyk) Lackowski. On June 23, 1936, Selma and George Geiger were united in marriage in St. Mary's Church in Parisville. George preceded her in death on August 28, 2000. Selma was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Helena. She was a past member of the ladies Sodality Society. She loved to visit with friends, playing cards, quilting and loving her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Larry Geiger of Harbor Beach, Jean Talaski and her husband, Lavern, of Harbor Beach, James Geiger and his wife, Linda, of Harbor Beach, Daniel Geiger of Harbor Beach, Arlene Cook and her husband, Tom, of Ruth, Cheryl Halifax and her husband, Gary, of Harbor Beach, Barb Burkhard and her husband, Randy, of Saginaw; grandchildren, Brenda Burgess, Denise Couillard and her husband, Dave, Angie Frakes and her husband, Micky, Shannon Geiger, Nikki Geiger, Shelly Cook and her husband, Eric, Jeff Talaski and his wife, Cheryl, Doug Talaski and his wife, Carolyn, Lori Mazure and her husband, Rodney, Jason Geiger, Alissa Geiger, Nathan Geiger, Matthew Cook and his wife, Cindy, Shawna Hessling and her husband, Terry, Jenna Halifax, Adam Burkhard, and Aaron Burkhard; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Watchowski and her husband, Ernie, of Bad Axe, Evelyn Peyerk of Filion, Sylvia Bartolatta and her husband, Chris, of Roseville, Frances Becking and her husband, Robert, of Bad Axe, and Theresa Puvalowski of East Pointe; brothers, Irvin Lackowski of Warren, Richard Lackowski of Beaverton and Franklin Lackowski of Clinton Township. She was preceded in death by a son, David Thomas Geiger; grandson, Jared Halifax; two great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Matthew Talaski; brothers, Ed, Ray, Walter and Cass Lackowski; and a sister, Rose Collins. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2003, in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Helena with Fr. Andrzej Boroch, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
