Emma Lucille (Booms) Geiger
July 27, 1914 - April 10, 1996
Emma L. Geiger, age 81, of Harbor Beach, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 1996 
in the Harbor Beach Community Hospital following a three moiuh illness.  She was 
born July 27, 1914 in Sherman Township to the late John and Elizabeth (Bischer) 
Booms.  She and Clarence Geiger were married September 12, 1936 in St. Anthony’s 
Catholic Church in Helena.  She was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic 
Church, Harbor Beach and the Altar Society.  She was also a member of the Jolly 
Neighbors Farm Bureau and was an avid quilter and enjoyed card playing and 
square dancing.

Surviving are her husband, Clarence Geiger of Harbor Beach; three children, 
Susan and Bernard Smaglinski of Harbor Beach, Charles and Judy Geiger of Harbor 
Beach, and Mary Ann and Fred Jahn of Port Hope; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-
grandchildren.  Also surviving is one brother, Leonard Booms of Harbor Beach; 
and five sisters, Loretta Dropiewski of Fort Hope, Clara Roggenbuck, Bernetta 
Messing, Rosaline Messing and Margaret Maurer all of Harbor Beach.  She was 
preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Geiger; a sister, Alma Messing; 
and five brothers, Roman Booms, Arthur Booms, Wilfred Booms, Leroy Booms and 
Bernard Booms.

Funeral services were Saturday in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, Harbor 
Beach.  Rev. Edward Konieczka, pastor, officiated.  Burial was in the church 
cemetery.  Published Harbor Beach Times and also Minden City Herald Thursday 
April 18, 1996.
