John L. Genis  
March 8. 1949 – August 23, 2021
John Genis, age 72 of Harbor Beach, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 at 
McLaren Bay Region in Bay City.  He was born on March 8, 1949 to the late 
Edward Genis & Lauretta (Booms) Genis Gusa.  John and Lois Smith were united 
in marriage on August 20, 1994.  She preceded him in death on March 1, 2020.  
John served in the US Army.  John was a scrap metal guy, and enjoyed going 
for Harley Davidson rides, was easy going and always being helpful. 

John is survived by his brothers: Ronald Genis, Earl (Nancy) Gusa, James 
(Diane) Genis, sisters: Maureen (Joe) McCrandall, Sharon (Dan) Bischer, step 
daughters: Erin (Matt) Krumenacker, Tracey (Brad) Prill, 2 step 
grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law: Cindy (Dave) Ferris, Linda 
Bucholtz, Robert (Karen) Smith, Roy (Julie) Smith; mother-in-law Elma Smith, 
and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brother Larry 
Gusa; 3 infant siblings: Raymond, Patricia, Joseph, niece Jessica Bischer, 
step-father James Gusa, and sister-in-law: Doreen Genis. 

Funeral services for John will be Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11 am at the 
Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach, with Fr. George Amos officiating.  
Burial will follow Caseville Township Cemetery.  Visitation for John will be 
Wednesday from 2-8pm, and on Thursday beginning at 10 am until time of 
services at 11 am. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com   Published by
