She was born on October 7, 1918, at the home of her parents, the late Joseph and Mary (Kulish) Buchkowski. She attended Maurer School, Paris District No. 3 and graduated on June 3, 1932. On October 12, 1940, she was united in marriage to Stanley Fabian Glaza at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville where she had been a life long member until her death. They were married for 56 years and lived and worked side by side on their centennial farm until they retired in 1984. She was a member of the St. Mary's Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed quilting, vegetable gardening and flower gardening. She always looked forward to visits from children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her five children, Mildred Block and her husband, Kenneth, of Lexington, Eleanor Shaw of Ann Arbor, Richard Glaza and his wife, Roxie, of Shelby Township, Lillian Abrams and her husband, William of Owosso, and Carl Glaza of Jackson; 12 grandchildren, Ronald, Ernest, Randolph, and Kenneth Jr. Block, Cynthia Davis, Patrick Shaw, Teresa McPherson, Ricky Boyd, Amber Palinski, Shawn and William Abrams, Nicholas Glaza; ten great-grandchildren, Alena Schneider, Cassandra and Jarrett Block, Regina and Adam Block, Matthew and Jordan Block, Amanda Boyd, Austin and Ashley Abrams; four sisters, Emma Fisher of Ubly, Bernice Ignash of Port Huron, Marie Krozek of Ubly and Matilda Particka of Bad Axe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley on June 5, 1997; five sisters, Isabella Swartz-Weisenberger, Sophia Susalla, Albena Maurer, Gertrude Susalla-Messing, Josephine Miller; two brothers, Alosie Buchkowski and Joseph Buchkowski Jr. Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2003, at St. Mary Catholic Church of Parisville. Fr. Andrzej Boroch, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9:30 p.m. today at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the church. There will be a rosary by St. Mary's Rosary Sodality at 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Memorials may be offered to the Huron Memorial Hospice.
