He was born November 16, 1936, in Harbor Beach to the late John J. and Gertrude (Pyrek) Glaza. He married Lucille G. Holdwick on February 16, 1957, at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Helena. Roman attended the Ubly High School. He sailed the Great Lakes for thee years before moving to the Detroit Area where he worked for 16 years at various tool and dye shops. He then moved back to the Huron County area to farm with his family for 26 years. Roman was a grinder at his son’s company, Harbor Tool and Machine Company of Harbor Beach. He enjoyed farming, the outdoors, gardening, word search puzzles, and listening to Polka and country music. Roman truly loved visiting with his children and grandchildren. He loved his dog Mikey who became his constant companion. Roman is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lucille of Ubly; five sons, David R. Glaza and his wife, Sherry of Harbor Beach, Steve Glaza and his wife, Cheryl of Washington, North Carolina, Gary Glaza and his wife, Theresa of Snover, Dennis Glaza of Bad Axe, Robert Glaza and his wife, Corinne of Ruth; eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Dolores Glaza of Bad Axe, special niece, Frances Kanaby and her husband, Larry of Rapson. He was preceded in death two infant daughters, Cheryl and Mary Glaza; one brother, Walter Glaza; four sisters and their husbands, Grace and Leo Kosal, Beatrice and Leonard Sobczak, Edna and Clemens Fisher, Susan and Arthur Grifka. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Today at St. Mary Church of St. Isidore Parish in Parisville. The Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Helena. Visitation will be from 10:30-11 a.m. at the church only. There will be a parish vigil service at 4 p.m. Monday afternoon at the funeral home.
