Joanne was born on February 14, 1940 in Parisville, daughter of the late Alex and Barbara (Pollum) Glaza. Joanne attended St. Mary Catholic School in Parisville and SS. Peter & Paul High School in Ruth. She was raised on a farm near Ruth. She was a parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville where she was a member of the Rosary Sodality. Joanne loved to go to the senior meal site to visit with her friends and play bingo. She also loved to listen to polka music. Joanne is survived by her aunt, Reta Pollum of Ubly; uncle and aunt, Stanley and Grace Pollum of Sterling Heights; many cousins. She was preceded in death by her uncle, Herman Pollum. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor of St. John Catholic Church in Ubly, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Parisville. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday by the St. Mary Rosary Sodality and a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Both services will be at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to the Family Discretionary Fund or donor’s choice.
