Ignatz (Nick) Glaza July 30, 1887 - March 2, 1969 UBLY - Ignatz Glaza, 81, retired farmer of Paris Township and lifelong resident of Huron County, died Sunday in his home after a long illness. Born July 30, 1887 in Paris Township, Mr. Glaza was a farmer there until 1948 when he retired and moved to Ubly. He and Mrs. Susan Polum Zmich were married October 19, 1933. Mr. Glaza is survived by his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Peter Osantowski, Detroit, two foster daughters, Mrs. Irene Gosdzinski, Ubly and Mrs. Elizabeth Ameling, South Bend, Indiana, 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Lucy Pelot, San Bernardino, California, and a brother, Alois Glaza, Owendale. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. John Catholic Church by Rev. Zygmunt I. Gaj. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery at Parisville. Friends may call at Zinger Funeral Home, Ubly, after 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rosary will be recited at 9 p.m. Wednesday by Father Gaj. Published Port Huron Times Herald Monday March 3, 1969. Additional Comments: Notes: Son of Frank & Julia (Alent) Glaza. He went by the name of Nick. Mrs. Peter Osantowski is Ella Mae Zmich, daughter of Enoch & Susan Braker Zmich. Irene Gosdzinski and Elizabeth Ameling, are the daughters of Ignatz’s older sister, Mary Glaza Dudek. When Mary died at an early age, Ignatz took the girls in.
