Dianne Elizabeth (Maurer) Glaza
February 28, 1949 - February 27, 2025
Dianne Glaza, age 75, of Ubly, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025.  She 
was born on February 28, 1949, in Bad Axe, Michigan, daughter of the late John 
“Jack” and Barbara (Filion) Maurer.  Dianne graduated from Bad Axe High School 
in 1967.  She married Vern Glaza of Ubly on June 21, 1969, and moved to Mt. 
Morris, Michigan where she worked for the United States Post Office as a rural 
letter carrier for 17 years.  After retirement, Dianne and Vern returned to Ubly 
to live.  In her free time, she enjoyed camping at Duggan’s Campground, visiting 
the Casinos, playing cards (especially euchre), cheering on her close friends at 
the bowling alley, and being a member of the Christian Mothers at Good Shepard 
Parish.

Dianne is survived by her husband of 55 years, Vern Glaza of Ubly, sister Sandra 
(Dave) Appold, brothers John (Dawn) Maurer and Steve Maurer; sisters-in-law Kay 
Bukoski, Betty Glaza and Theresa (Steve) Murdock. Daughter Barb (Doug) Kane, 
granddaughters Cadeja Kane, LaQuasha Kane, and great grandsons Romel, Brayden 
and Caiyden. Daughter E.J. (Chris) Nicol, step-grandchildren Miranda Forsythe, 
Hailee, Caleb, Ethan and Eva Nicol; step-great grandchildren Bentley and Aubree 
Forsythe, as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends that she greatly 
loved.  She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Barbara Maurer, sister 
Karen Nieschulz, in-laws Ed and Edna Glaza, brothers-in-law LaVerne Bukoski, 
Frank Glaza, and Bill Glaza.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass and 
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11 am at Good 
Shepherd Parish – St. John Catholic Church in Ubly.  Dianne’s family will 
receive guests for visitation on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10 am until the 
service time at 11 am at the church.  Published Huron Daily Tribune Thursday
