Daniel Harry Gorney
January 17, 1939 – November 22, 2006
Daniel Harry Gorney, 67, of Bad Axe, died Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at 
home following a long illness.  Dan was born January 17, 1939 in Rapson to 
Harry and Irene (Talaski) Gorney.  He graduated from Bad Axe High School in 
1957 and served in the U.S. Army.  Upon his discharge from the Army, he 
returned to Bad Axe where he lived his entire life.  Dan married Beverly 
Wehner on August 24, 1963 in Harbor Beach.  He enjoyed showing his 1978 Black 
Mercury Grand Marquis at local auto shows.  Dan also liked polka music, 
playing cards and attending air shows.  He was a farm equipment salesman and a 
member of Sacred Heart Parish in Bad Axe.   

In addition to his wife, Beverly, Dan is survived by six children: Denise 
(John) Kohr, of Pigeon, Nancy (Scott) Tanner, of Boon, Carolyn (Joe) Houle, of 
Rochester, Diane (Dave) Jammer, of Midland, Kelly (Mike)  Petrat, of Coos Bay, 
Oregon, and Keith (Celeste) Gorney, of Brooklyn; 14 grandchildren, Jessica and 
Jamie Kohr, Erin and Cole Tanner, Jordyn, Ryan and Daniel Houle, Adam Jammer, 
Nathan Petrat, Brooke, Kate and Trent Gorney, and Chase and Sydnie Harding; 
his mother, Irene Gorney; brothers, Arnold (Rose) Gorney and Ken Gorney; 
sister, Carl (Eric) Oman; and several nieces and nephews.   Dan was preceded 
in death by his father, Harry Gorney; sister, Janet Gorney; and brother, Gary 
Gorney.
