John (Gornowicz) Gorney September 15, 1878 - July 10, 1942 Heart Attack Fatal to City Employee - John Gorney, 63, died unexpectedly Friday morning at his late home on South Fifth Street, when he was taken with a heart attack. He only lived a few minutes. The deceased had been a city employee for the past several years. Coroner Alden A. MacAlpine and Undersherlff John Kavanaugh investigated with the result that the coroner rendered a verdict of death by a heart attack. Mr. Gorney Is survived by his widow; five brothers George Gorney, Harbor Beach; Anthony Gorney, Wisconsin; Andrew Gorney, Saginaw; Frank Gorney, Bad Axe; and Alex Gorney, Detroit. and a sister Mrs. Rose Heleski, Bad Axe. Funeral services were held Monday morning at nine from Our Lady of Lake Huron church with burial In Rock Falls cemetery. Rev James J Marvin conducted both services. Married Mary Mazure on February 2, 1904 in St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville.
