Michele Lynn (Volmering) Grekowicz
February 10, 1965 - December 15, 2023
Michele Lynn Grekowicz, age 58 of Harbor Beach, passed away Friday, December 15, 
2023, from injuries sustained in an accident.  She was born on February 10, 1965 
in Harbor Beach, to the late Eugene & Dian (Scholtz) Volmering.  Michele and 
Chris Grekowicz were united in marriage on April 13, 1985 in Ruth.  Alongside 
her husband, Chris, owned and operated Grekowicz Farms Inc. where she took up 
her second residency operating a chopper, coordinated the truck drivers and 
other personnel, meticulously cleaned the equipment, and kept the operation a 
well-oiled machine.  She was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church 
and was the Harbor Beach Middle School Track Coach from 1985-2019.  She was a 
devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, an avid jogger (despite frigid 
temperatures), and gave selflessly to her community.  She enjoyed playing cards, 
caring for her pets, and loved finding any reason to be with her family, 
especially her grandchildren.  She loved taking the grandkids outside on the 
Ranger, exploring the shop, baking desserts, and taking them swimming.

Michele is survived by her husband Chris Grekowicz of Harbor Beach, children: 
Amanda (Jim) Hallock of Ruth, Jesse (Meghan) Grekowicz of Freeland, Heidi (Josh) 
Robinson of Saginaw, Scott (Kayla) Grekowicz of Port Austin, 6 grandchildren: 
Peyton, Cooper, Cali, Rex, Emma, Mae, siblings: James (Denise) Volmering of 
Tucson, Arizona, Brad (Ellyne) Volmering of Palms, Steven (Donna) Volmering of 
Harbor Beach, Michael (Rhonda) Volmering of Harbor Beach, Bryce Volmering of Mt. 
Pleasant, Lynn (Kurt) Kern of Bridgeport, Lisa (Brent) Moeggenborg of St. Johns, 
John (Christy) Volmering of Midland, brother-in-law Dale Geiger of Ruth, mother-
in-law Betty Siemen of Harbor Beach, sister-in-law Mary Lee Kramer of 
Ortonville, Paul (Mary) Grey of Bellingham, Washington, Kathy (Russ) Lido of 
Troy, Mike Grekowicz of Jackson, Steve (Cheryl) Grekowicz of Grand Rapids, Lori 
(Ken) Toner of Kinde, Jody Grekowicz of Evart, and numerous nieces and nephews.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Dian Volmering, sister 
Debra Geiger, brothers-in-law Harvey Kramer and Steve Weinlander.

Funeral Mass for Michele will be Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 11:30 am, at Our 
Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, with Fr. 
Kevin Wojciechowski officiating.  Burial will follow at the OLLH Church 
Cemetery.  Visitation for Michele will be on Wednesday, from 2-8pm at the Ramsey 
Funeral Home of Harbor Beach.  Visitation on Thursday will be at the church 
beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11:30 am.  A Parish Vigil Service 
will take place Wednesday at 7 pm at the Funeral Home.  Published Huron Daily
