Joan L. (Schumacher) Grifka
April 16, 1944 - July 4, 1995
 Mrs. Joan L. Grifka, 51, of Snover. died Tuesday, July 4. 1995 at Hills & Dales 
Hospital in Cass City.  She was born April 16, 1944 in Detroit,  daughter of 
Clara (Shobert) Schumacher and the late Elmer Schumacher.  She married Anthony 
Grifka on September 1, 1962 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Palms.  She was a 
1962 graduate of Ubly High School. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's 
Catholic Church in Argyle since 1962. 

Surviving are his husband, Anthony Tony" Grifka of Snover; three daughters, Mrs. 
Brenda Osantowski of Sandusky, Mrs. Dale (Nancy) Doerr of Argyle and Jodi Grifka 
of Snover, one son, Daryl Grifka of Snover; three: grandchildren; her mother, 
Clara Schumacher of Bad Axe; three sisters, Janet Schumacher of St. Clair 
Shores, Jackie Partaka of Sandusky; and Mrs. Gordon (Jill) Scott of Sandusky; 
two brothers, Philip Schumacher and his wife, Brenda, of Sandusky, and Glen 
Schumacher and his wife, Dorene, of Deckerville; and her mother-in-law, Olive 
Grifka, of Snover.  She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Schumacher on 
June 12, 1995, and one granddaughter, Jennifer Doerr, on February 29, 1988.  

Funeral services were. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Argyle.  
Msgr. Francis Murray, pastor, officiated.  Burial was in SL Ignatius Catholic 
Cemetery in Freiburg.   Arrangements were conducted by the Zinger Smigielski 
Funeral Home of Ubly.  Published Minden City Herald Thursday July 13, 1995.
