Gregory David Grifka
March 26, 1961 – November 12, 2021
Gregory David Grifka, age 60, of Bad Axe, passed on November 12, 2021 at 
Covenant Hospital in Saginaw after a long battle with heart and kidney disease.  
He was born on March 26, 1961 in Bad Axe, son of Eugene and Dorothy (Parrish) 
Grifka, the first of six children.  Greg was a 1979 graduate of Bad Axe High 
School and a 1985 graduate of Michigan State University.  He held numerous 
positions in the retail and food service industries.  He loved spending time 
with his nieces and nephews.  Greg’s biggest passion was the Michigan State 
Spartans.

Greg is survived by his parents, Eugene and Dorothy Grifka of Bad Axe, his 
brothers - Perry (Michelle) Grifka of Grand Rapids, Dale (Lisa) Grifka of Bad 
Axe, and Kerry (Sheila) Grifka of Ubly, his sisters - Lori (Dave) Hart of 
Allendale and Lynette (Steve) Unruh of Oxford, thirteen nieces and nephews - 
Shawn Hart, Ryan Hart, Allison (Scott) Aardema, David Grifka, Emily Grifka, Adam 
Grifka, Alex Grifka, Andrea Grifka, Courtney Unruh, Claire Unruh, Carter Unruh, 
Kiefer Thies, and Kilian Thies, as well as a great-nephew Teddy Aardema.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 3 pm 
at St. Hubert Parish – Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe.  Visitation will 
be on Wednesday at the church from 2 pm until the service time at 3 pm.  Burial 
will be in the church cemetery.  Published Huron Daily Tribune Monday November
