Elmer Alvin Grisdela  
September 18, 1920 – July 3, 2005
Elmer Grisdela Age 84, of Howell, died Sunday, July 3, 2005.  Born September 
18,1920 in Detroit, the son of Sigismund and Stella (Karboska) Grisdela.  He was 
a W.W. II Army veteran; and a graduate of University of Detroit Law School; 
retiring from the V.A. after 32 years of service.  He was a member of St. Joseph 
Catholic Church in Howell. 

Elmer is survived by his wife, Catherine Callaghan, whom he married in 1953 in 
Howell; his children, Margaret (Ted Sharp) Grisdela of Florida; Catherine (Bill) 
Kaiser of California; Elizabeth Cezat of Canton; Phillip (Cindy) Gridela of 
Virginia, Paul (Kathleen) Grisdela of Howell, Barbara (Eric) Fornasiero of 
Rochester Hills, Michael (Cathy) Grisdela of Okemos and Peter (Gerry Bross) 
Grisdela of California, also 15 grandchildren. 

Mass of Resurrection will be Thursday 10 AM, (visitation 9-10 AM) at St. Joseph 
Catholic Church, Father William Ashbaugh, Celebrant.  Interment in Mt. Olivet 
Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM, with rosary 
Wednesday at 7 PM at MacDonald's Funeral Home, Howell (517-546-2800).  Memorial 
contributions are suggested to Michigan Parkinson Foundation, St. Joseph 
Catholic Church Building Fund or charity of your choice.

according to his service records.  Grandson of Frank and Teckla (Lemanski) 
Gwisdalla and Nicodemus Karbowski and Elizabeth Suida.  Married Catherine Mary 
Callaghan on October 10, 1953 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Howell.
