Florence (Filipiak) Gusa
August 26, 1926 - June 22, 2012
Florence Gusa, 85, of Harbor Beach, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, at 
Lakeview Extended Care and Rehab Center of the Harbor Beach Community Hospital, 
under hospice care, with her family at her side.  She was born August 26, 1926, 
in Grindstone City, to the late Paul and Rose (Lavine) Filipiak.  Florence and 
Albert M. Gusa were united in marriage February 19, 1949, in Gagetown.  He 
preceded her in death March 24, 2004.  Florence was a member of Our Lady of 
Lake Huron Catholic Church.  She enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers.

She is survived by her children, Rosean (Marvin) Groth of Harbor Beach, Mary 
(Steve) Schumacher of Harbor Beach, Veronica (Robert) Dallas of Harbor Beach, 
Anthony (Darlene) Gusa of Harbor Beach, Albert (Beverly) Gusa Jr. of Harbor 
Beach and Marie (Arnold) Kessel of Port Hope; grandchildren, Brandy Groth, 
Theresa Groth, Joseph (Nichole) Schumacher, Renee (Jeff) Kettelhut, Julie 
Dallas, Lori (Ben) Milosevic, Robert Dallas and his fiancé, Chelsey Pionk, 
Sarah Dallas, Melissa (Andy) Glaza, Tony Gusa and friend, Stephanie Holdwick, 
Kristy Gusa and friend, Jace Capling, Rhonda Gusa and fiancé, Tony Syrakis, 
John Gusa and friend, Jennifer Brandow, Albert Kessel, Arnie Kessel, Rachel 
Kessel and Tammy Kessel; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Fortin, Zachery and 
Travis Milosevic and Madelyn and Nolan Glaza; sisters, Theresa Bambach of Port 
Austin, Sophie Navock of Port Austin, Gertrude Strozeski of Bad Axe, Rose Marie 
Aivto of Macomb and Barbara Uller of Warren; and sister-in-law, Joyce Gusa of 
Buckley.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Derek Kessel; and sister, Bernice 
Osentoski.

Funeral mass for Florence will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lake Huron 
Catholic Church, with Fr. William Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in 
the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Ramsey 
Funeral Home of Harbor Beach and beginning at 9 a.m. until time of services 
Monday in the church. A Parish Vigil Service will take place at 7 p.m. Sunday 
in the funeral home.
