Jacob Gwisdalla
October 1867 - August 17, 1936
Jacob Gwisdalla, 68, resident of Paris township since he was three years old 
passed away Tuesday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lucan Schaska in 
Sherman township.  Funeral services were held Thursday in St. Mary’s 
Catholic church, Parisville.  Rev. Fr. Joseph Koper officiated.  Burial was 
in the parish cemetery.  Mr. Gwisdalla is survived by seven children, Mrs. 
Schaska, Edward Gwisdalla, Port Huron; Stanley Gwisdalla, Henry Gwisdalla, 
David Gwisdalla. and Mrs. Alosius Konopka, all of Detroit, and Mrs. Domonic 
Polk, Paris township.  Mr. Gwisdalla was born in Poland and came to this 
vicinity 65 years ago with his parents. Published Minden City Herald August 
21, 1936.

Note:  Born in Poland to Thomas and Kate (Junpkoski) Gwisdalla,  Married  
Martha ‘nee Wrobel Alent on August 10, 1891in St. Mary Catholic Church in 
Parisville.  The marriage record shows her name as Martha Holland.  She had 
been married to Ignatz Alent, who died February 23, 1891, leaving her with 2 
small children: Xavier and Anastasia.
