Edward Jerome Haak
September 27, 1946 - September 24, 2023
Edward Jerome Haak of Oxford, Michigan passed away on September 24,2023 at the 
age of 76.   Edward was born on September 27, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan. He was 
the son of Edward and Ruth (nee Gallagher) Haak.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Joan (Seidl) and children 
Amanda (Ryan) Stacey and Emily (Keith) Holmes.  Grandchildren Elizabeth “Libby” 
(fiancé Adam), Katherine “Kate” and Charlotte. Siblings David (the late Dolly) 
Haak and Catherine Watt.  Brother-in-law of Judy (Phil), Carl, Janice (Nick), 
Mark, and George (Kathi Lynn). And many beloved nieces and nephews.  Edward 
graduated in 1965 from St James High School in Ferndale, Michigan and married 
Joan (Seidl) at St James Church in 1968.  Edward was a proud Vietnam War veteran 
and a recipient of the Purple Heart.  He was an avid runner, photographer, and 
fan of University of Michigan football.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Modetz 
Silverbell Chapel Funeral Home, 100 East Silverbell Road, Orion. The funeral 
service will take place at 11:00 am on Monday October 2, 2023, St. Joseph 
Church, 715 N. Lapeer Road, Lake Orion. Luncheon to follow immediately after 
funeral. Burial will take place 3:00 pm at Roseland Park Cemetery, 29001 
Woodward Avenue, Berkley.  Memorial contributions to St. Vincent De Paul 
Society, C/O St. Joseph Catholic Community. 715 N. Lapeer Rd., Lake Orion, Mich.
