Ren Hanselman June 28, 1960 - March 28, 2021 Ren Hanselman, age 60, died suddenly March 28, 2021 at his home in Wyoming, Michigan of an apparent heart attack. Ren was the youngest child of LaVerne and Regina (Clor) Hanselman of Ruth. He was born June 28, 1960 at Harbor Beach Community Hospital. Ren attended St Peter and Paul Catholic School. A car accident during his junior year of high school put him in a coma for a month but determination and hard work led to graduation with honors from Ubly Community School in 1978. He attended Ferris State University earning a degree in 1983 in Occupational Health and Safety. He was accepted into the army and ultimately was granted an honorable medical discharge. At the time of his death Ren was employed at Siciliano's Market, a local business who were "family" to him. Ren was a member of St Pius X Catholic Church in Grandville. Ren was an outgoing person who loved to converse with anyone. He trusted everyone and was generous with his time. His positive attitude and perseverance were virtues that enabled him to live without bitterness over what might have been. Ren is survived by his mother, Regina Hanselman, sisters, Marjorie (Myron) Cook, Ruth, Barbara (Tom) Malcolm, Livonia, brother Duane (Deb Leon) Hanselman, Holden, Maine and eight nieces and nephews. His father, LaVerne preceded him in death in 2017. Funeral Mass for Ren will be at St. Peter and Paul Church/Holy Apostles Parish in Ruth on Wednesday April, 21 at 11:00 am with Fr. Matthew Federico officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter and Paul cemetery at a later date. For anyone comfortable doing so in light of the virus, visitation will be at the church (mask required) starting at 10:00 until time of service.
