She was born on June 30, 1931, and attended the White Rock School. She was preceded in death by her husband LaVerne and her son Ren. She is survived by three children, Marjorie Cook (Myron), Duane Hanselman (Deb), and Barbara Malcolm (Tom). In addition, she has eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Regina is survived by one brother Gerald Clor, three sisters Marie Klee, JoAnn (Lewis) Slavick, and Patricia Clor, as well as three sisters-in-law, Laura (Fabian) Clor, Ilene (Benjamin) Clor, and Verna (Gabriel) Clor. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Clara Clor, her brothers Luke, Fabian, Gabriel, and Benjamin as well as two sisters-in-law Nora Clor and Priscilla Clor. On November 8, 1952, she married LaVerne at St. John Chrysostom Church in Forestville. Regina, LaVerne, and their children lived in a home they built in Ruth in 1955. She was devoted to her church community at Sts. Peter and Paul in Ruth where she was actively and continuously involved for seven decades. Most notably, she was a member of the Christian Mothers' Sodality, serving as its leader for many years, as a cook in the school kitchen where she spoiled the students with home-cooked meals and baked goods, and as a worker at the annual Labor Day weekend Mama Ruth Picnic. In recognition of her many years of dedicated service to the Church, she was named "Mama Ruth" in 2011. Regina also served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Regina was a skilled seamstress, making outfits for herself and her children. She maintained a large vegetable garden and many flower beds. Her children learned to weed, pick, clean, and help preserve many fruits and vegetables. When her children were older, she worked at Volz's IGA in Minden City, and then as a nurse's aide at the Deckerville Community Hospital. Later in life, she served as a hospice volunteer for sixteen years. In 1960 Regina and LaVerne joined the Country Western Square Dance Club where they remained active members for over fifty years. They also enjoyed Senior Dance Club dances in Bad Axe and Sandusky. They were avid campers with their children. Later they camped while attending many weekend square dances throughout the State. After their retirement, Regina and LaVerne spent a part of several winters in Florida. For many decades they were members of card clubs that met during the winter months. Euchre was the game of choice, but Regina also enjoyed playing Pinochle and Bridge. Regina will be remembered with fondness by the many people whose lives she touched. A funeral service for Regina will take place sometime in late spring 2022. If you wish to make a memorial, please consider a donation to A Change of Seasons Hospice or to a charity of your choice.
