Orin Kenneth Hanselman
Leukemia Takes Life of Child; Funeral Monday in Detroit
Bad Axe, Aug 18 -- Orin Kenneth Hanselman, 10 wk old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold 
Hanselman, Detroit, former residents of this vicinity, died Friday in Children's 
Hospital, Detroit, after an illness of 20 days of leukemia. Children's Hospital 
authorities said Orin was the youngest child on record to become a victim of 
leukemia, a disease which causes an excess of white corpuscles in the blood. 
Orin was born June 4, 1951. He became ill July 28. His death occurred exactly 
two months after his maternal grandfather, Warren Nugent, died. His mother is 
the former Fay Nugent. Orin is survived by his parents, two brothers, Warren 9, 
John 5 and grandmothers, Mrs. Gustav Hanselman and Mrs. Ida Nugent. Funeral 
services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in VerHeyden funeral home at 16300 
Mack Ave, Detroit. Burial will be in a Detroit cemetery.
