Elmer Ralph Heidloff
April 18, 1922 - February 28, 2001
Elmer R. Heidloff, a longtime Ford Motor Co. supervisor, died of respiratory 
failure Wednesday at Meadowbrook Nursing Center in Rochester Hills.  He was 
78 and lived in Troy.  He had worked as a supervisor in financial analysis 
in Ford's Research & Engineering Center in Dearborn for 30 years, retiring 
in 1980.  Before that, he was a supervisor in accounting at the Lincoln 
Mercury Parts Depot and a unit manager for the old Michigan Bell Telephone 
Co.  Mr. Heidloff was a veteran of World War II, serving as a first 
lieutenant in the Army Air Forces in 1942-45.  He earned a bachelor's degree 
in business administration at the University of Michigan and attended the 
university's Graduate School of Business.  He belonged to Alpha Kappa Psi, a 
professional business fraternity.  He enjoyed sports, golfing with the Ford 
Motor Co. Golf League and bowling with several groups.  Survivors include 
two sons, Lawrence Heidloff and Raymond Heidloff; two daughters, Eileen 
Newton and Sharon Rhodes, and seven grandchildren. 

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral 
Home, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy, where a scripture service will be at 7 p.m.  
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Alan Catholic Church, 2345 
Coolidge, Troy, where the family will receive friends half an hour before 
the service.  Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
