Heilig 24, of 3774 Pine Street, who was killed in an auto accident Wednesday on Ruth Road, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bowen Funeral Home, Minden City. Rev. Gerard Gumbleton, pastor of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. The remains will be in the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. Heilig was born September 26, 1948, in Bad Axe. He was graduated in 1966 from SS. Peter and Paul High School. He and Janice Phillips were married September 16, 1967, in Deckerville. He was employed at Midwest Rubber Company, Deckerville. Surviving are his widow; two sons, John and Darren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Kroetsch, Minden City; three brothers, Terry and Roger Kroetsch and Thomas Heilig, all of Minden City, and three sisters, Wendy, JoAnn and Barbara Kroetsch, all of Minden City. Published Times Herald (Port Huron, Michigan) Thursday November 30, 1972 --------------- John Heilig, Rudy Wendt Killed In Accidents Tragedy happened twice in one week, when two accidents took the lives of two area men. On Wednesday evening. November 29th around 7 o'clock the car driven by John A. Heilig. 24, Deckerville, ran into the rear of a flatbed truck on the Ruth Road one mile north of Deckerville, killing Mr. Heilig. Early Sunday morning Mr. Rudolph Wendt was fatally injured in a collision of his car and a pick up truck at the Ruth and Forester Road. Also killed in this accident was Richard A. Barr 17, Carsonville. Tlic driver of the pickup. Ed ward T. O'Mara, 17, Carson-ville, was taken to the Deckerville Hospital. The pickup car ran the stop sign and collided with Mr. Wendt's car. Mr. Wendt was taken to Deckerville Hospital and then transferred to a Saginaw Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Mr. Wendt was on his way home from work at Pontiac. JOHN A.
