Charlene M. Hessling, 62, of Ruth, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at her 
home under hospice care.  She was born on March 24, 1951, in Bad Axe, to Gladys 
(Messing) Priemer and the late Jerome Priemer.  Charlene and Robert Hessling 
were united in marriage on July 19, 1969, in Ruth.  She was a member of Ruth 
Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of the Holy Apostle Parish, and the 
Christian Mothers.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, farming, bike riding, and 
especially her grandchildren.



Charlene is survived by her husband, Robert; four children, Shelly (Brian) 
Scholtz of Harbor Beach, Duane Hessling of Pigeon, Charles Hessling of Ruth, 
and Kim (Bassen) Abdo of Swartz Creek; mother Gladys; brother Jerome (Brenda) 
Priemer Jr. of North Carolina, and sister Janice (Bob) Fisher of Florida; and 
six grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be conducted at noon Monday, July 8, 2013, at Sts. Peter and 
Paul Catholic Church of the Holy Apostle Parish, with Fr. Peter Nwokoye 
officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   Visitation will be 
from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach, and at 11 
a.m. at the church until time of services on Monday.  A Rosary Service will be 
held at 7 p.m. by the Christian Mothers.
