Hessling, 49, of Ruth, passed away Monday, September 20, 2004, at her residence under hospice care. She was born February 8, 1955 in Sandusky to the late Donald L. and Isabell (Hodgins) Sample. She married James A. Hessling on June 1, 1987 in Bad Axe. Charlotte attended Sandusky High School. She worked for Midwest Rubber Company in Deckerville for twelve years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. She enjoyed bowling, golf, feeding and watching the birds, camping, fishing, playing cards, vacations, and her family. Charlotte is survived by her husband, James, of Ruth; three sons, Daniel J. Hessling and his wife, Karen L., of Bad Axe, Jamie H. Hessling, of Ruth, Aaron J. Hessling, of Kinde; one daughter, Kelsey B. Hessling, of Ruth; two brothers, Heman T. Sample, of Port Huron, and Donald R. Sample, of Sandusky; four sisters, Phyllis L. Harris and her husband, John, of Holenwald, Tennessee, Elda L. Slater and her husband, Kenneth, of Grayling, Donna K. Slater and her husband, David R., of Sandusky, Robin S. Bezemek, of Palms; in-laws, Austin B. and Jean Hessling, of Caro, Cass and Donna Klama, of Ruth, Richard and Nancy Hessling, of Harbor Beach, Warren M. and Sharon Hessling, of Warren, Mark C. Hessling and his friend, Joann Peruski, of Port Huron, Kevin and Louise Hessling, of Harbor Beach, Bridget and Doug Brown, of Lexington, Kentucky, Steve Hessling and his friend, David O'Shea, of Syracuse, New York; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charlotte was preceded in death by one son, Curtis; one brother-in-law, Stanley R. Bezemek, Jr. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2004, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. The Rev. Steve Gavit, pastor of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Ruth, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today, from 1 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
