Ernestine Della (Wolschlager) Hessling
October 3, 1920 - July 2, 1999
Ernestine D. Hessling, age 78 of Harbor Beach, passed away Friday, July 2, 1999 
at her home in Sherman Township following a long illness.  She was born October 
3, 1920 in Bad Axe to the late Frank and Agnes (Depcinski) Wolschlager.  She and 
Ralph Volmering were married October 6, 1945 in Sacred Heart Church in Bad Axe.  
Together they farmed until their retirement.  Ralph preceded her in death on 
June 9, 1989.

She then married Elmer Hessling on May 16, 1992 in St. Anthony's Church in 
Harbor Beach. S he was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Harbor 
Beach, and was a member of the Altar Society.  She loved quilting, crocheting, 
her plants, baking bread, and a good card game.

Surviving are her husband Elmer Hessling of Harbor Beach; one sister: Evelyn 
(Audrez) Ochoa of Detroit; seven brothers: Raymond Wolschlager of Bad Axe, 
Welmer (Marian) Wolschlager of Bad Axe, Archie Wolschlager of Bad Axe, Stanley 
(Josephine) Wolschlager of Bad Axe, Melvin (Lorraine) Wolschlager of Bad Axe, 
Kenneth (Audrey) Wolschlager of Bad Axe and Elgin (Mary Jane) Wolschlager of 
Lowell; nine step children: Austin (Jean) Hessling of Caro, Richard (Nancy) 
Hessling of Harbor Beach, Donna (Cass) Klama of Parisville, Mark Hessling of 
China Township, Warren (Sharon) Hessling of Sterling Heights, James (Charlotte) 
Hessling of Parisville, Kevin (Louise) Hessling of Harbor Beach, Bridget (Doug) 
Brown of Lexington, Kentucky, and Steven Hessling of Beacon, New York; and many 
nieces and nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. 

Mass of Christian Burial took place on Monday, July 5, 1999 in St. Anthony's 
Catholic Church in Harbor Beach with Rev. Charles Hammond, pastor, officiating.  
Burial was in the church cemetery.  1 A parish scripture service took place on 
Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Ramsey Funeral Home (A Golden Rule Funeral Home) in 
Harbor Beach.
