Hill, 80, of Ruth, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe after a short illness. She was born April 11, 1930 in Parisville to the late Adam and Agnes (Pawlowski) Peruski. She married Gerald F. Hill on September 4, 1948 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1996. Mayme was a graduate of a country school. She worked on the family farm. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville, where she was a member of the Rosary Sodality and chairman for the St. Mary Festival dinners for years. She enjoyed cards, crafts, flowers and origami money items. She is survived by two sons, Mark Hill and his wife, Irene, of Macomb Township, Marvin Hill and his wife, Lois, of Ruth; two daughters, Margaret Patterson of Shelby Township, Marcy Schroeder and her husband, Randy, of Bad Axe; seven grandchildren, Kevin Hill and his wife, Sarah, of Germany, Brian Hill of Detroit, Kellen Patterson of Shelby Township, Adam Hill of Auburn Hills, Andrea Hill of Ruth, Amy Schroeder and Jason Schroeder, both of Midland; one brother, Stanley Peruski of Helena; two sisters, Agnes Ertman and her husband, Clarence, of Sterling Heights; Ruth Grifka of Warren; four sisters-in-law, Jadigwa "Hattie" Peruski, Jeanette Peruski, Elsie Peruski and Adeline Jurgelonis. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Raymond, Benjamin, Adam, Clarence, Alfred and Leonard. The funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. The Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday. There will be a St. Mary Men’s club rosary at 8 p.m. Thursday, a St. Mary Rosary Sodality rosary at 4 p.m. Friday and a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Friday. All services will be at the funeral home.
