Edward Clarence Holdwick February 17, 1940 - December 9, 2020 Edward Clarence Holdwick, 80, of Harbor Beach passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Henry Ford Hospital from complications after a heart procedure. He was born on February 17, 1940 to Jerome and Stella (Mausolf) Holdwick. He married Marie Cecelia Learman on June 23, 1962 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Helena. He was a lifelong member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Helena where he was a member of the Men's Club. He also served as the sexton of St. Anthony's cemetery for over 50 years. He farmed in partnership with his brothers, Paul and Ike, until his retirement. He was proud that his sons, Todd and Chad, followed in his farming footsteps. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and has several trophies displayed in their home. In retirement he focused on his passion for woodworking. He enjoyed crafting jewelry boxes, gun cabinets, cedar chests, picture frames, lighthouses, magazine racks and other small projects. He served as a member of the Harbor Beach Schools Board of Education for 16 years and was privileged to have presented all six of his children with their high school diploma. Anyone who knew Ed, knew of his love for food. He enjoyed cooking as much as he enjoyed eating. Hot dogs cooked over a campfire were a favorite. He is survived by his wife, Marie, of 58 years; his children Laura (Lyle) Killinger of Harbor Beach, Suzanne Holdwick of Lake City, Julie (Fred) Talaski of Harbor Beach, Todd (Chrissy) Holdwick of Harbor Beach, Bridget (Todd) Osborn of Williamston, and Chad Holdwick of Harbor Beach; his grandchildren Krystal, Bradley, and Alayna (special friend Lucas) Killinger, Alyssa (Jared) Huttenga, Mackenzie Smith, Tristen Kilbourn, Alex (Lindsey) Talaski, Ashley (Nicholas) Booms, Andrew (special friend Gina and children) Talaski, Aaron Talaski, Jacklyn, Jessica, and Jacob Holdwick, Morgana, Rachel, and Zane Osborn; step grandchildren Tayler (Richard) Green and Skylar Osborn; great grandchildren Myles and Parker Huttenga, Bryce and Brady Booms, and Everly Talaski. Also survived by sisters and brothers Arlene Emming, Linda Kirsch, Marjorie (Dave) Androl, Barbara (Bob) Ingles, Patricia (Carl) Roth, Bill (Audrey) Holdwick, Paul (MaryAnn) Holdwick, Erwin "Ike" (Dorothy) Holdwick, Dennis "Goldy" Holdwick, and Gene (Audrey) Holdwick; in-laws Theresa Holdwick, Ilene Learman, Fred (special friend Sally) Learman, and Ed (Marianne) Learman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Stella (Mausolf) Holdwick; parent-in-laws Arthur and Evelyn (Terbrack) Learman; brothers Richard Holdwick, Harold Holdwick, and Brian Holdwick; brothers-in-law Bob Emming, Ken Kirsch, and John Learman; and sister-in-law Marian Holdwick. Services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 1 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, Helena with burial in church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach from 3-8 p.m. with limited occupancy. Masks and social distancing are required. Visitation will continue Saturday at the church from noon until time of service. A parish vigil service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
