Henry Holdwick
Ruth Sept 26 – Henry L Holdwick, 71, prominent Sherman Twp Huron Co, farmer, 
died unexpectedly Sun afternoon in Briggs Stadium, Detroit, 10 minutes before 
the Detroit-Cleveland Indians game.  Mr Holdwick aws an ardent sports 
enthusiast. Two sons-in-law, Harold Stacer and Stanley Kups, were at the 
stadium with him. 

Mr Holdwick, son of the late William and Magadelene Holdwick, was born Dec 15, 
1883 in Sherman Twp and was a lifelong resident of the twp.  H and Miss Anna 
Bischer were married May 12, 1914 in SS Peter & Paul Cath ch, Ruth.  He was a 
member of the Holy Name society of the church. Mr Holdwick is survived by his 
widow, three daughters, Mrs Harold Stacer and Mrs Merlin Stacer, both of Harbor 
Beach, and Mrs Kups, Detroit; four sons, Robert and Joseph Holdwick, both of 
Ruth and Roman and Leo holdwick, who live with their parents; 13 grandchildren 
and a brother, William Holdwick, Ruth. Solemn requiem high Mass wll be chanted 
at 9:30 a.m. Thurs in SS Peter and  Paul ch by Very Rev Frank W Kaufmann and 
other priests. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Remains are in Zinger 
funeral home at Ruth where Fr Kaufmann will officiate at Rosary devotions at 
8:30 p.m. Wed.
