William Joseph Holdwick September 6, 1941 – July 23, 2024 William (Bill) J. Holdwick, age 82, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from complications from multiple health issues. He was born to the late Jerome & Stella (Mausolf) Holdwick on September 6, 1941. Bill founded Holdwick Tiling Co in 1963. He installed farm tiling drainage for many years, eventually turning the operation over to his four sons. He was a member of MLICA (Michigan Land improvement Contractors of America) since 1964. Bill served on many committees and was head of a couple field days. He was greatly respected by fellows MLICA contractors. Bill was also a metal machine operator, learning to weld at 8 years of age. By the time he was 12, he was doing custom welding for customers of his dad, Jerome. Bill could always be counted on to help "his boys" fix anything broken or to send "his daughter" flowers for special occasions when he couldn't be there in person. Bill served two years in the army, in the artillery division, including a short stint in Viet Nam; He has been a proud veteran since. Bill was a member of the neighborhood farm bureau group, making life-long friends. Bill was a lifelong member of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, St Anthonys church of Helena, where he was a member of the men's club, an usher, Eucharistic Minister and could be found at church dinners at the ticket table or mixing pancakes in the kitchen. In his earlier years, he enjoyed pike and herring fishing on the St Mary's River in the UP. He enjoyed woodworking, and made many pieces of furniture, wooden toys and picture frames for his children, and grandchildren and loved donating his work to the local catholic school auction and family Christmas raffle. Bill is survived by his family he loved dearly. His wife of 55 years, Audrey (Roggenbuck) Holdwick (married on May 24, 1969). Daughter, Tammy Holdwick and sons, Eric (Sara), Kevin (Jodie), Greg, Keith (Abbey). Grandchildren, Travis (Anna), Tyler, McKenzie, Quentin, Logan and Zak. Great-grandson, Ethan. Brothers: Paul, Gene (Audrey). Sisters: Lin Kirsch, Marge (Dave) Androl, Barb (Bob) Ingles, Pat (Carl) Roth, In-laws Rosalie, Theresa, Marie, Dorothy Holdwick, Don (Carmen) Roggenbuck, Dennis (Kathy) Roggenbuck, Duane (Maggie) Roggenbuck, Terry (Bernie) Roggenbuck, Joann Roggenbuck, Lynn (Jeff) Liebeskind. Also, numerous nieces and nephews, great, great -great nieces and nephews. Bill is preceded in death by daughter Emily Holdwick. Parents: Jerome and Stella (Mausolf) Holdwick. Parents in-Law: Jerome and Dorothy (Messing) Roggenbuck. Brothers: Richard, Harold, Edward, Erwin (Ike), Dennis (Goldy), Brian Holdwick, sister Arlene Emming. In-laws: Bob Emming, Kenneth Kirsch, Herbert Roggenbuck, Mary Holdwick, Mary Ann Holdwick. Services will be at Ramsey Funeral Home in Habor Beach. Viewing on Thursday July 25, 2024 from 2-8, Rosary at 7 pm. Funeral mass will be Friday July 26 at 11 am at St. Anthony's in Helena, Father Kevin Wojciechowski presiding. Internment in St. Anthony's cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers the family asked to please make donation to Eastern Huron Ambulance Service, Harbor Beach Fire Department or St. Anthony's men's club.
