Frederick J. Jahn  
May 19, 1940 – September 10, 2013
Frederick J. Jahn, 73, of Port Hope, passed away Tuesday, September. 10, 2013, 
at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Saginaw.  He was born May 19, 1940, in Port 
Hope, to the late Fred and Elsie (Brandenstein) Jahn.  Fred and Mary Ann Geiger 
were united in marriage July 10, 1965, in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic 
Church in Harbor Beach.  Fred worked for Thumb Farm Service as an Agriculture 
Sprayer for many years.  Fred was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Port 
Hope, and was a volunteer firefighter for the Port Hope Fire Department.  He 
served on the Port Hope School Board, and was an elder for St. John Lutheran 
Church.  He enjoyed working with draft horses, dancing, playing cards and 
travelling.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Jahn of Port Hope; children, Chris Jahn 
and his wife, Sheryl, of Port Hope, Craig Jahn of Essexville, Corey Jahn and 
his wife, Lisa, of Ooltewah, Tennessee and Casey Jahn and his wife, Tina, of 
Port Austin; eight grandchildren, Monica, Michael, Dylan, Tristan, Kelby, 
Mason, Parker and Mariah; and siblings, Lois Dhyse of Kinde, Art (Shirley) Jahn 
of Ruth and Doris (Earl) Pfaff of Ruth.

Funeral services for Fred will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, 
with the Rev. Greg Eilers officiating. Burial will follow in OLLH Church 
Cemetery.  Visitation for Fred will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Ramsey 
Funeral Home of Harbor Beach, and beginning at noon until time of services 
Friday at the church. A scripture service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday 
in the funeral home.
