Henry Jurk
June 13, 1917 – December 15, 1997
PORT HURON - Henry Jurk, age 80 of Port Huron, died Monday, December 15, 1997.  
Mr. Jurk was born on June 13, 1917 in Owosso, Michigan, and had lived here since 
1938.  He married Annabelle M. Van Dalen on December 27, 1943 in Flint, Mich.  
Mr. Jurk was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre 
receiving the Purple Heart and several other ribbons and campaign medals.  
Member of Chas A. Hammond Post 8, American Legion.  He was employed some 20 
years at the Times Herald and retired from Southeastern Michigan Gas Co. where 
he had 20 years of service.  He attended the Cornerstone Church.  He was an avid 
golfer. 

Surviving are his wife, Annabelle M. Jurk of Port Huron; three sons. Dale M. and 
Judith K. Jurk of Port Huron, Stephen L. and Judy D. Jurk of Marysville, and 
Stanley T. and Gail Jurk of Port Huron; two daughters, Elizabeth A. and Jack 
Mazure of Port Huron, and Christina M. and Michael Kay of Birmingham, Alabama 
grandchildren, David, Wendy, Andrea, Richelle, Sarah, Michael and Scott Jurk, 
Laura Santo, Rebecca Mazure, Patrick and Christopher Kay; great grandchildren, 
Elizabeth, T.J. and EmmaLee Santo; brothers, Reinhold, Walter, William, Harold 
and Victor; and sisters, Leah, Alvina, Clara, and Ruth.  Preceded in death by 
brother, John and sister, Lydia Lorenz. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral 
Home.  The Rev. Peter Foxwell, Pastor of Cornerstone Church, will officiate.  
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 
p.m. today and Wednesday.  Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's 
choice.  Military Honors at the cemetery under direction of the Allied Veteran's 
Council of St. Clair County.  Published Times Herald (Port Huron, Michigan)
