Pigeon Progress, July 31, 1908
"William Kappen, one of Winsor's oldest and most highly respected citizens. 
died Wednesday evening.  Mr. Kappen was born in Germany May 31, 1827 and came 
to this township with the early settlers.  Besides holding several minor 
offices in the township, he was supervisor for several years.  The deceased is 
survived by an aged wife and nine grown-up children.  The funeral services 
will be conducted in the Evangelical Church at Kilmanagh tomorrow morning and 
the remains will be laid to rest in the Sebewaing Cemetery."
