John Kavanagh
Bad Axe - Funeral services will be held tomorrow for John Kavanagh, 74, Justice 
of the Peace here since 1943. He died unexpectedly Tues in his home. He was 
President of Thumb Oil and Gas Corp. Although Mr Kavanagh had not been in good 
health, his death was unexpected because he seemed to be as well as usual. He 
was deputy sheriff from 1923 to 1927 and from 1931 to 1943. Funeral services 
will be at 9 a.m. Fri in Sacred Heart  Cath ch in Bad Axe. Burial will be in 
Sacred Heart cemetery. Remains ar in Alden A MacAlpine funeral home.  Surviving 
are his wife, Marie Elizabeth, six daughters, Mrs. Eva Steffes, Ft Lauderdale; 
Marie Edith, Precious Blood Parish, Detroit; Mrs Jerome Kladzyk, Bad Axe; Mrs 
John Kolb, Reading MA; Mrs Eugene Mario, new York City and Mrs Donald Boske, 
Hillsdale, IL; 2 sons, James of Berkley and martin, Chicago; 15 grandchildren; 4 
sisters, Mrs Mary Putman, Owendale; Mrs Helen O'Malley, Detroit; Mrs Win Toner, 
Kinde and Mrs Frank Higgins, Detroit, and one brother, Martin, Phife Lake.
