Bad Axe Hotel Proprietor Dies After Long Illness
Bad Axe, Aug 14 – Frank Kladzyk, 73, proprietor of the East end hotel the last 
14 years, died Wed night in Hubbard Memorial hospital after a long illness. Mr 
Kladzyk was a patient in the hospital the last 3 ½ months. The remains are in 
his home in the hotel. Rosary devotions will be conducted there at 9 p.m. Fri. 
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Sat in Sacred Heart Cath ch. Rev Charles 
A Roark will officiate. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery, Parisvile. Mr 
Kladzyk is survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Born Nov 
6, 1873 in Paris Twp, he lived there until he went to Detroit in 1930. Three 
years later, he came to Bad Axe. His wife, the former Miss Anna Kucharczyk, whom 
he married Oct 18, 1898, died in 1918.
