He was 81 years of age. Roy was born on February 25, 1926 in Mt. Clemens, son of the late George and Emma (Collins) Koenders. He served our country honorably in U.S. Navy during WWII. Roy was united in marriage to his beloved Olga on April 12, 1947 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Roseville. The couple lived in Center Line until making their home in Fraser in 1956. Roy worked as a shipping clerk for Colonial Broach for 28years and as a custodian for the Fraser school district for 10 years. He was also self-employed, preparing taxes for others for over 30 years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and gardening. Above all, he was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by the many he has touched throughout his lifetime. Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Olga; loving children, Nancy (John) Clarkson, David (Laurel), Dennis (Barbara), Bob (Judy), Douglas (Betty), and Barb (Jeff) Jones; cherished grandchildren, Debby, Cheryl, Dean, Brent, Ryan, Lindsay, Justin, Matt, Naomi, Livia, Madelyn, Kyle, and Tyler; dearest great grandchildren, Felix, Kirsten, Izabel, Rylee, Katie, Chloe, Claire, Alden, Ashley, Ty, and Lexie; and dear sisters, Martha Behnke and Ruth (Otto) Bluntzer. He was preceded in death by his granddaughters, Sara and Kellee and great granddaughter Megan. Visitation will be held in Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser, Tuesday 2pm-9pm with a Rosary at 7pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated in Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church of Fraser on Wednesday at 10am with additional visitation at 9:30am. Memorial contributions may be addressed to the Hospice of Michigan.
