Elsie May (Gwisdalla) Kozfkay 
March 31, 1927 – December 1, 2007
Elsie Kozfkay, 80, of Harbor Beach passed away Saturday night, December. 1, 2007 
at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.  Born on March 31, 1927 in Parisville to the late 
Aloise and Martha (Moe) Gwisdalla.  Elsie and Edward Kozfkay were married on May 
8, 1946 in Parisville.  He preceded her in death.  Elsie was a member of Our 
Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, a member of the Altar Society, the Harbor 
Beach VFW Auxiliary.  She was a retired employee of Hamill Manufacturing.  She 
enjoyed her garden and playing cards with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Marilyn Gosdzinski and her husband, James, of 
Trenton, Sandy Glaza and her husband, Gary, of Saginaw, Carol Herriman and her 
husband, Dan, of Harbor Beach, Allen Kozfkay of Harbor Beach, and Dan Kozfkay 
and his wife, Sharon, of Port Hope; five grandchildren; and five great-
grandchildren.
Elsie was preceded in death by her brothers, Alvin Gwisdalla and Ernie 
Puvalowski and sisters, Albina Guitar, Sylvia Puvalowski and Eleanor Kozfkay. 

Funeral Mass for Elsie will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 in Our 
Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church of Harbor Beach with Fr. James Carlson 
officiating.  Burial will take place in the OLLH Church cemetery. 
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor 
Beach from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral 
home.  A parish vigil service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the
