Kranchik died Thurs morning in Hubbard Memorial Hospital, Bad Axe, about 12 hours after he was found semi-conscious by neighbors in the house where he lived alone. Neighbors went to the house when they became concerned after not seeing him in Sun. It is believed that the ages man laid two or three days in the unheated house in below freezing temperatures after being stricken. Coroner Alden A MacAlpine, Prosecuring Attorney James Mumphrey and Chief Deputy Sheriff Robert F Swackhamer investigated after bruises were notices on Kranchik's head, body and legs. MacAlpine said the bruises apparently were caused from a fall and frost bite. Kranchik, a native of Poland, had no known relatives. Remains will be in Zinger funeral home from noon Sun until funeral services are held at 10 a.m. Mon. Burial will be in St Columbkille's cemetery.
