Lawrence Kranz
November 2, 1931 – October 17, 2016
Lawrence Kranz, 84, of Harbor Beach, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016, at 
Courtney Manor Nursing Center of Bad Axe.  He was born on November 2, 1931, in 
Harbor Beach, to the late William and Anna (Klug) Kranz.  He and Dolores Emming 
were united in marriage on June 14, 1952, in Ruth.  She preceded him in death in 
April of 1989.  Larry worked at Active Automotive for 22 1/2 years, retiring in 
1987.  He also worked on the family farm. He enjoyed golfing, softball, bowling, 
playing cards, fishing, trips to Florida for 27 years and his family. 

He is survived by his children, LaJuana Van Horn and her husband Larry of 
Lapeer, Debra Vahovick and her husband Dennis of Palmetto, Florida, Gary Kranz 
and his wife Laura of Bridgeton, New Jersey, Glen Kranz and his wife Jackie of 
Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, Gerald Kranz and his wife Rhonda of Cypress, 
California, Coleen Gentner and her husband Mark of Minden City, Gregg Kranz and 
his friend Tracy Robinson of Bad Axe; 18 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren 
and one great-great-grandchild; his brothers, Wilfred and Melvin Kranz, and twin 
sister, Lorraine Holdwick of Ruth.  Larry was preceded in death by a grandchild, 
Dennis J. Vahovick. 

Funeral Mass for Larry will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at St. Anthony's 
Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, with Fr. William Spencer 
officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 
2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach and from 10 
a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the church. A Parish Vigil 
Service will take place 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
