Irwin E.  Kubacki 
February 12, 1926 – October 22, 2009
 
Mr.  Irwin E.  Kubacki, 83, of Bad Axe, passed away Thursday, October  22, 
2009 at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe.   He was born February 12, 1926 in 
Parisville to the late Aloysius and Lucy (Smaglinski) Kubacki.   He married 
Marie T.  Wolschleger October 12, 1949 at St.  Anthony Catholic Church in 
Helena.   Irwin was a graduate of the Kelly School Bingham No.  1.   He was a 
World War II veteran, serving in the U.S.  Army in the Pacific Theatre from 
March 1945 to December 1946.   Irwin farmed most of his life, retiring in 
1986.   He also was employed at Active Industries from 1954 until he retired 
in 1988.   He was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe.   
He was a life member of the Bad Axe VFW Post No.  116.   He liked to listen to 
country and polka music.   He was a compassionate man and truly enjoyed 
visiting with family and friends.

Irwin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie of Bad Axe; one son, Allen, 
at home; four sisters: Mary Ann Wisneski and her husband, Eugene, of Bad Axe; 
Mildred Lamke and her husband, Eugene, of Parisville; Florence “Pat” Vogel and 
her husband, Lawrence, of Minden City; Rose Mary Wisneski and her husband, 
Thomas of Bad Axe; three brothers: Stanley Kubacki and his wife, Margaret; 
Aloysius Jr.  “Rufus” Kubacki and his wife, Joann; Bernard Kubacki and his 
wife, Pauline, all of Bad Axe; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Kubacki of Ruth; 
many nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen 
Kubacki and Rita Helewski, one brother, Clarence Kubacki.   

Funeral Mass was conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, October  26, 2009 at Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe.  Fr.  Robert Howe officiated, with burial in 
the church cemetery with military honors.
Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly is conducting the arrangements.
