James E. Kubacki
September 21, 1932 - October 22, 2012
James E. Kubacki, 80, resident of Huron Township and lifelong resident of Huron 
County, passed away Monday evening, October 22, 2012, at Huron Medical Center 
in Bad Axe.  He was born September 21, 1932, in Ubly, to the late Bertha 
Kubacki.  Jim was united in marriage to Virginia Andreski on October 8, 1955, 
at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Port Austin.  He was a member of St. 
Michael’s in Port Austin.  Jim was a lifetime member of the Grindstone-Port 
Hope Sportsman’s Club and the Tip of the Thumb Coon Hunting Club.  He enjoyed 
running his dogs in the woods and going to his cabin in the Upper Peninsula 
near Hulbelt, to hunt bear with his dog.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; three sons, Eugene Kubacki of Warren, 
Terry Kubacki of Elkton and Scott (Raylene) of Flushing; three daughters, 
Elaine (Ronald) Martin of Caro, Judy Strozeski of Rockford and Renee (Kriss) 
Klaus of Lapeer; one brother, Henry (Jeanette) Kubacki of Kinde; 12 
grandchildren, Melissa Williams, LeRoy, Ashley, Jodi, Cody and Reuben Kubacki, 
Dustin Maurer, Jessica Thompson, Sarah Strozeski, Stacy and Jason Martin and 
Jeriann Kubacki; and 10 great-grandchildren.  James was preceded in death by a 
daughter, Mary Ann Maurer; and daughter in-law, Dorothy Kubacki.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at St. 
Michael’s Catholic Church in Port Austin.  Visitation will take place from 2 to 
8 p.m. Thursday at the MacAlpine-Gage Chapel in Kinde and from 10 a.m. until 
time of services Friday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be 
made to the Grindstone-Port Hope Sportman’s Club or the Tip of the Thumb Coon 
Hunting Club.
