Kubacki, 77, of Dwight Township, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2016 at Huron Medical Care Facility. Eddie was born in Bad Axe on April 26, 1939 to the late Floyd and Veronica (Murawski) Kubacki. On July 6, 1963, he married Catherine Pluciennik at St. Mary Church in Parisville. He was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church/Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Dwight Township, and was a member of the Holy Name. Eddie played Santa Claus for Kmart during Christmas time. He loved collecting antiques, even opening up a John Deere Museum. He was a member of the Thumb Two Cylinder Club where he enjoyed driving his tractors in the parades, rain or shine. On August 26, 2006, Edward wrote: “I, Ed, worked with my dad as a carpenter and painter. In 12th grade, I worked for Murawski Sales & Service in Port Austin. I went to work for Mr. Oswald Lummp of Elkton from 1963 – 1968. In 1968, I went to work for Mortimer Lumber Yard in Bad Axe for three years and three months. I quit Mortimer because I got so much carpenter work on my own as a builder. In 1972, I was a truck driver for Mortimer. I worked for Mr. Bob Hogan for about 1 year. I also worked for the United States Government in Huron County as a caretaker and property manager. I also worked in Sanilac County for the Farmer Home Administration before Reagan became president. In 1999, I worked for Carter Lumber Yard in Bad Axe as a truck driver. In 1997, I opened up a John Deere Museum for people to come and see. I love to do carpenter work and all kinds of jobs. I love to talk to all ages of people, young and old and all in between. I love my John Deere Museum, collecting all those years from people all over the United States. I want my family to enjoy it as much as I did. I love you all – Eddie” Edward is survived by his wife of 53 years, Catherine Kubacki of Dwight Township; his daughters: Marie (Thomas) Murdock and Beverly Kubacki, both of Bad Axe; daughter in law, Carolyn Kubacki; grandchildren: Matthew Murdock, Leeann Murdock, Joshua Kubacki and Diana Kubacki; brothers and sisters in law: Ann (Lloyd) Messing, Jenny (Clarence) Seltz, Mary (Willard) Krumpp, Stanley Pluciennik and Chester Pluciennik; many cousins and several nieces and nephews.
